"Four" Never Meant So Much

*Giveaway Closed*

Four weeks from today my daughter will be four.

I am both excited and sad. At three I can still call her my baby, cuddle her, and be the center of her world. At four she wants nothing to do with being a baby, cuddling is saved for special occasions, and her world has become so much bigger than just me.

I am sad to see the days of babyhood end. However, I am excited to see the new world of childhood begin. Last month we started getting chapter books at the library. One of my favorite times of the day is when we lay on her bed and read together. Right now we are reading The Tale of Despereaux. She gets excited for the next time we read. We talk about what is happening in the book and she asks lots of well thought out questions. She is so much smarter than I was at 3 (almost 4).

As I mentioned on the post Balloons, Party Hats, and Cake. Oh My!, we like to make our birthdays a big deal. With that in mind, know that I have been planning  the party, how to incorporate Tinkerbell for both the girls and the boys attending the party, and what kind of food to serve a bunch of 3-5 year olds.

Just this week Mattie changed her birthday party plans. No more Tinkerbell (as she had expressed in her birthday party interview). She has moved on to Hello Kitty. I was a little sad about this because I had a great plan for the birthday cake at her party. But never fear! With the help of the internet and Betty Crocker, I am creating a new, fun plan. I think I am more excited about the Hello Kitty party!

Have you ever seen these cake pops by Bakerella? What child wouldn't want to go home with one of these wrapped in cellophane and tied with a red ribbon (or hot pink. what do you think?)! These little darlings will probably be part of the gift bag. As a treat at the party, I am going to make these delicious candy bar cake pops. They look so delicious! I better do a practice batch this week (I like to plan ahead like that, haha). I will probably make Hello Kitty mini cupcakes also. Because I'm crazy and over-the-top like that.

Today I got an email from MyBlogSpark and found that Betty Crocker will possibly be featuring Bakerella and her cake pops on the cover of their Fall magazine (that's what I voted for). Betty Crocker knows a good thing when they see it! After receiving that email, it sealed my cake pop decision.

Since birthday parties and the food at birthday parties is so important to me, I want to share the party loving, food loving, overthetopcraziness with you.

I have a really cool Betty Crocker "Bake Life Sweeter" giveaway for one of my readers. With this gift pack, you too will be able to make a batch of cake pops! I hope you will join in the fun and share your results with me. If you don't have a birthday party in your near future, use your gift for the 4th of July!
